Philosophy from a dinner

Yesterday, have a great old Beijing style dinner with two Franch friends. In Chinese, we call it "Huoguo", and I don't know how will other people call it, maybe steamed pot. It's a way of all guys sitting around with boiled water. The pot must be made of copper, and must use coal as fire materials in the middle of the pot. Then you put your food, such as beef, mutton, vegetables, such thing into the pot and wait for a minite, you can take them out and eat it with some specially mixed soup. My friend enjoyed it very much.
During the dinner, waitress adjust the fire only with a piece of copper to control it. The copper will block the airflow to the coal, if more blocked, less air flow in and the fire will be weak. If less blocked, more air flow in and the fire will be strong. A very efficietn way with a very simple tools. Thus we begin the discussion of simple philosophy. You can judge if one thing can be work just according to the complexcity. A very simple thing can work very well just like the piece of cooper and chalk stick in China.
